International Safe Pregnancy Congress Award Recepient
Sadandaula Rose Muheriwa, a Lecturer in Maternal and Child Health Nursing Department is the recipient of the 2nd International Safe Pregnancy Congress award. She got this award for being an overall best presenter at the 2nd International Safe pregnancy Congress that was held in Tehran in Iran from 15-17th February in 2012. This congress was organized by the Shahid Behshti University of Medical Sciences in collaboration with the Iranian Ministry of Health, WHO, UNFPA, UNAIDS, United Nations Office of Drug Control (UNODC) , Iranian Midwifery Scientific Association, Sarem Research Centre, and International Branch of Shahid Behshti Medical university. The Congress had 18 credit hours.
Her presentation was on: Knowledge and Practices of Young adults on Utilization of Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV services in Malawi. This was part of her Masters thesis at Kamuzu College of Nursing.
